A good source of

  • Fibre (Pectin)
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin K

Ingredients

  • 1 x Pear
  • 1 x Apple
  • Pinch of ground Cinnamon
  • 1 x Tablespoon of hot Water

You will need

Method

1) Prepare the fruit by removing the cores, the peel and all seeds. Cut into small chunks making sure you only have the fruit flesh!

2) Place the fruit in the saucepan with the hot water and slowly bring to a simmer. Continue simmering until the fruit breaks up easily with your fork or spoon. Be careful not to overheat or boil too much otherwise you will lose vital nutrition from the fruit.

3) Add the pinch of cinnamon and take off the heat. Once cooled you can blend to a smooth puree.

4) Fill up your  tray evenly with the puree and, when cooled completely, place in the freezer.

5) Once frozen you can empty you portions into a freezer bag so you can use the portioner again!

To reheat just warm a portion in a saucepan or the microwave. Test the temperature on your top lip.

If you do use a microwave to heat food always remember to stir thoroughly to remove hotspots!
