  • 1 x medium pumpkin
  • 1 x medium Broccoli
  • 20g Unsalted Butter
  • 1/2 x Teaspoon dried Dill of 1 x Teaspoon fresh Dill
  • Breastmilk or formula

You will need

Method

1. Fill up the kettle and put on to boil.

2. Preheat the oven to 180 Degrees Celsius or gas Mark 6.

3. Start off by preparing the pumpkin. You will need to cut it in half and remove all the seeds. Then you need to cut each half into slices or ‘moon’ shapes.

4. Arrange these moons flesh side up on a baking tray and brush with olive oil. Put the lot into the oven and leave to bake gently for around 20 minutes.

5. Now prepare the salmon by checking throroughly amd removing any bones. Place the salmon on some foil or another baking tray and place under a hot grill for 5 minutes each side or until the flesh is cooked through.

6. Prepare the broccoli by cutting into florets. Place into a saucepan and fill the saucepan with the boiled water just enough to cover the broccoli. Place on the hob and boil gently for 20 minutes.

7. Your pumpkin should be ready. Check that the flesh is soft. Seperate the flesh from the skin and put all the flesh into your blender.

8. When the salmon is cooked, flake the salmon flesh into the blender also, checking again for any bones as you do so.

9. Drain your broccoli florets and place into the blender. Blend thoroughly while adding enough breastmilk or formula to bring it to a consistency you are happy with. You may need to do this in batches.

10. Fill up you ice cube tray or portioner evenly with the puree and, when cooled completely, place in the freezer.

11. Once frozen you can empty you portions into a freezer bag so you can use the portioners again!

To reheat any baby food recipes just warm a portion in a saucepan over a gentle heat or in the microwave. Test the temperature on your top lip.

If you do use a microwave to heat baby food recipes always remember to stir thoroughly to remove hotspots!
